You are cordially invited to join us for these fun-filled events.

In addition to raising funds to benefit the programs and services of Bethesda North Hospital and Hospice of Cincinnati, the Foundation events are considered some of the premier social events in our community. These events serve as opportunities for the community to come together in friendship and fun, not only to celebrate the success of Bethesda, but also to show continuing support of a valued health care partner.

The annual Hike for Hospice events are a great way for people in our community to support Hospice of Cincinnati (HOC) and Hospice of Hamilton (HOH).  Both hikes are family and pet friendly.  Event proceeds allow HOC and HOH to carry out their missions to create the best possible and most meaningful end-of-life experience for all who need care and support in the community.

The Hamilton event will be held on Saturday, September 21.  The hike begins at the HOH inpatient care center at 1010 Eaton Avenue and features a route through the downtown area of Hamilton.  Individuals, families and church groups have been supporting the Hamilton Hike since 1998.  The Cincinnati event will be held on Saturday, October 5.  The hike begins at the HOC inpatient care center at 4310 Cooper Road and features a route through downtown Blue Ash.  For 31 years, the community has supported the Cincinnati Hike, and we’re pleased to announce that a new competitive 5K run will be added this year!

Mary Jo's Angels is the newest annual event hosted by the Bethesda Foundation. Inspired by our dear friend and philanthropist, Mary Jo Cropper, Mary Jo's Angels is an award ceremony that recognizes and honors individuals or groups of individuals who, through care or service, have improved the quality of life for cancer survivors.

Mary Jo Cropper's experience with cancer motivated her to make a major leadership gift that resulted in the construction of an expanded breast center now named the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. At the time of her donation, she indicated her wish to leave a legacy of high-quality care for her daughters and granddaughters. Now years later, Mary Jo has left us with more than just that, she has left a legacy of high-quality care for the 40,000 women served by the Center every year.

Mary Jo succumbed to breast cancer in 2011. People remember her by five simple words: gracious, kind, compassionate, generous and inspirational. It is by these traits that Mary Jo's Angels honors people in the Cincinnati community who have helped better the life for cancer survivors, all while honoring the grace and compassion of Mary Jo Cropper.
